At the end of June we held a hustings at an all-constituency meeting for those standing to be Labour’s candidate to be West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner. The person is responsible for holding the police to account and delivering an effective police service, so the role is of vital importance to our city.
Members heard speeches from three of the four candidates – Simon Foster, Yvonne Mosquito and Mike O’Brien – and had thought-provoking question and answer sessions with each of them. Afterwards, we took a vote to endorse Simon Foster for the PCC role, and we wish him the best of luck!
