At the end of June, members of our branch hosted a food bank collection organised by Hall Green councillor Lou Robson, and Birmingham MP Liam Byrne. Liam has developed ‘Project Compassion’, carrying out numerous collections  across the city.

Generous Hall Green residents donated shopping as they went past, helping to combat the rise in food bank usage linked to the Tories’ failed rollout of Universal Credit and austerity policies. All donated goods went to the food bank at the Church of the Ascension to help people in our local community.
